Tea Sets and Tea Pots

Children have enjoyed playing with dolls for hundreds of years and one of the most common games they’re likely to play with them is drinking tea with a child’s tea set.

Kids love to imitate adults and talking to their dolls, feeding them and involving them in a dolly tea party is all an important part of developmental play.

There are however more girly versions than unisex with an abundance of pink flowers, butterflies, fairies and other prints that typically appeal to little girls. They make a great gift for a child and tea gift sets are available complete with picnic baskets, plates and trays and perhaps a little blanket to sit on in the garden. Children can be entertained for hours playing with a pretend tea party and you can make the experience even more special for them by providing real drinks, sandwiches and cakes.

A tea party is a great theme for a little girl’s birthday party and a childrens tea set can form the basis for this. You can even buy an Alice in Wonderland tea set, so why not go the whole hog with a mad hatter’s tea party complete with matching decorations and party food.

Vintage childrens tea sets are also great collector’s items and are highly prized if you can find one with all the pieces intact. These tea sets can reach high prices at auction and if you’re really lucky you might even find one in the attic or lurking in the back of your local charity shop.
